How You Can Help

New!

I have this great Resources Directory contributed by Wlodzimierz Gogloza now — but I would like to collect as many materials as I can on-site so the links don't end up broken, etc. — so I need someone to go out and try to secure permission to use all these materials, or figure out that they're public domain and we don't need permission, and then reformat them in XHTML for this site.

I need a lot of help.  What you can do depends on your skill set. Some of the most important things are technical.

One thing this site needs right now is its own domain name server. Namezero, our domain name registrar, does a pitiful job of forwarding web connections on to other sites, one result of which is changing the margins of the page.  This needs to be fixed, pronto.  I'm working on getting DNS and parts of the domain onto a server, which I am going to build and stick on a DSL connection somewhere, but ultimately the upstream bandwidth of this will not be fast enough for snazzy images and stuff.  Any way you can help with the project would be appreciated.

I need to set up primary and secondary DNS servers.  I need a place to put them, and if possible, a web and mail server too.

I need someone to do graphics and design for the web site.  I also need to set up some kind of listserv and web discussion system, and if possible webmail, so I can give out e-mail addresses.

I've got some materials that need to be formatted into XHTML also....  And I need help getting the site listed on search engines.  I need help making sure all the pages on this site are valid XHTML.

On the non-technical end, a lot of writing needs to be done.  I still need basic explanations of what individualist anarchism stands for and the kinds of actions people can undertake to subvert the system.  A lot needs to be said on how to form alternative institutions and how to engage in community-based action.  Even if you just want to write your musings on some random topic, or recent event I want to collect individualist anarchists' thoughts on things.  Writings based on first-hand experience are especially valuable.  I want to break out of the abstract ideological box.

I also need somebody to go out crawling on the web to look for things that have already been written, old 19th Century texts, more modern stuff, etc.  I'm trying to find stuff that is specifically individualist anarchist, not anarcho-capitalist, so this task is a little bit hard.

As I obtain more materials, I am going to need some help categorizing them and archiving them.

On the flipside, I'm going to need someone to go out on the Internet and find various places to promote the site, to tell people that it exists.

And finally if you have an artistic bent, any artwork you can contribute would be welcome.

You can also submit free software to the Individualist-Anarchist.Net Sofware Directory, thus increasing the number of free software users who are exposed to individualist anarchism

One very valuable way you can help out is by contributing money to the cause.  More money will always help.  Not only will your monetary contributions help me bring more material like this to you, but they will also help support this impoverished and unemployed individualist anarchist.  If you contribute $5 or more, I will add your name to a list of founders and give you a forwarding Individualist-Anarchist.Net e-mail alias.  If you contribute $10 or more, I will also through in a yourname.individualist-anarchist.net forwarding website.  I will be taking donations online via Paypal or e-gold.  (Credit card donations accepted via Paypal.) E-mail me for details.

If you would like to hear about updates to this site, e-mail daniel@individualist-anarchist.net, and I will add you to an e-mail list.
