Calavera Oaxaquena, Sat. Nov. 1st + open gallery hours
Save the date of Saturday, Nov. 1st to join us for "Calavera Oaxaquena: Mensajes de la Lucha Social", 6-11pm. Now this night of incredible Artwork! Banjos! Accordions! Puppets! Documentary Screenings! Clowns! Pan de muerto! and so much more, is only one week away. A million thanks to all of you that helped and supported during the Cafe Calavera benefit event. It was wonderful to see you, share great food and send the show on it's way.
The exhibit is a Bay Area collaboration with Oaxacan artists honoring the dead by using art as the voice of justice. Including the 38-Artist collaborative series ‘Calavera Oaxaquena', community altars, projected documentaries, and great live music. Including artwork from nearly seventy artists in the theme of los muertos and social struggle. Featuring the print and stencil works from three Oaxacan art collectives that formed during the movement of 2006, and the works of many local artists.

We will be hosting open gallery hours on Sunday Nov 2nd, 12-6:30. We will be gathering in the gallery and the going out the Dia de los Muertos procession and the park to see the altars around 7pm.
Open gallery hours for the exhibit are Sunday's 12-4pm, through out the month of November (the 9th,16th and 23rd).
